A Beautifully Illustrated Calendar for 2022

Violence against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders has spiked since the start of the pandemic, rising by triple digits in some cities. These hate crimes are fueled, in part, by ignorance.

Learning about various cultures is a small way to break down barriers and push back against stereotypes. With that in mind, we asked three incredible AAPI creators from diverse backgrounds to illustrate the year to come from their own unique perspectives. Our featured artists this year are:


Shar Tuiasoa

Shar is a Polynesian illustrator from the island of O'ahu in Hawai'i. After studying Fine Art at her local community college, she earned her BFA from Laguna College of Art and Design. When she’s not in the ocean, enjoying the vibrant culture of her home, Shar is creating for her business, Punky Aloha Studio.

Justin Wu

Justin is a NYC-based Taiwanese American illustrator. He loves eating and trying new kinds of foods and has thus combined his two passions in life: food and art. Additionally, he aims to support local NYC food businesses by spotlighting their dishes with his artwork.

Ameena Fareeda

Ameena was born in Washington DC and currently resides in Silver Spring, Maryland as a freelance Illustrator and Designer. She creates works that shed light onto AAPI and AA cultural and social experiences. Creating work that sparks a sense of joy and curiosity through everyday nuances is her ultimate goal in illustrating
