Considering working with us to create a new Wikipedia article?
Before pursuing a new article through Wikipedia’s Articles for Creation process, it’s important to recognize the platform’s standards, particularly its notability guideline and sourcing requirements:
-
Wikipedia requires that a topic demonstrate notability through significant coverage in reliable, independent, third-party sources. This typically means in-depth reporting from reputable publications that have editorial oversight. Wikipedia’s General Notability Guideline (GNG) states:
"A topic is presumed to be suitable for a stand-alone article or list when it has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject."
-
Strong Wikipedia articles are built on sources fully independent of the subject. Coverage must come from unaffiliated outlets and reflect meaningful discussion rather than routine announcements or promotional content. Brief mentions, blogs, podcasts, videos, press releases, and self-published materials are not sufficiently sourced content for reference on Wikipedia.
-
Independent volunteer editors review all new article submissions. Acceptance is not guaranteed, and final decisions are based on Wikipedia’s guidelines and the strength of available sourcing.
At Beutler Ink, we evaluate notability, assess available sources, and provide clear guidance on whether we believe a topic is likely to meet Wikipedia’s standards based on our findings.
