We announced a recall. How quickly does it appear on Wikipedia?

Frequently within hours. A recall is news, news gets covered, and coverage gets added to Wikipedia by volunteers who watch company articles for exactly this kind of development.

The first version matters more than you might expect, because whoever adds it writes from the earliest stories, and the earliest stories about a recall are usually the most alarming ones. If that first paragraph overstates the scope, names the wrong products, or confuses a voluntary recall with a government-ordered one, those are correctable errors.

The fix is a suggested correction posted openly on the article's talk page (the public discussion page every article has) with your company connection stated clearly and better reporting attached. If you have a fair point to make, chances are good an editor will agree and make the change for you. And it should go without saying, but if it does not: don't try removing it, that will only make it worse.

During any live event, the safe order of operations is: read the article, fix facts through open requests, and save arguments about fairness and emphasis for after the news cycle moves on.
