Wikidata is a sibling site of Wikipedia that stores facts as individual data entries rather than written articles: your company's founding date, CEO, headquarters, parent company, industry, stock ticker, and logo, each recorded as a separate, machine-readable fact with sources attached. Where Wikipedia has an article about you, Wikidata has an "item", which is a stack of labeled facts filed under an ID number representing your brand.
Three things make it worth your attention. It is built for machines: Wikidata exists to be read by software, which is exactly what search engines and AI systems do with it. It is shared among projects: one entry serves every language version of Wikipedia, which is why fixing a single Wikidata entry can update facts across dozens of languages at once. And its bar for inclusion is much lower than Wikipedia's, so organizations too small or too lightly covered for a Wikipedia article often have a Wikidata entry anyway.
In short: anyone can edit it, few people are watching, and the tools your customers use every day are reading it.
