BINK Quarterly | Q1 2026

AI is reshaping how people find information, and Wikipedia is right at the center of it. That's where we've been for 15 years, and we're continuing to lead the industry in helping our clients navigate this critical yet often mystifying platform. Here's how:

✏️  A Better Process for Wikipedia Edit Requests

When companies want to improve their Wikipedia pages the right way, they submit edit requests through a review queue staffed by Wikipedia volunteers. But the queue is a challenge for everyone to use—especially volunteer editors. We decided to do something about it. Our strategy team proposed and won community support for key improvements to make the system work better for everyone. The queue now includes options for:

  • A summary of each request, so reviewers know what it's about before clicking through

  • A status indicator showing which requests are new and which are already under review

It still has a long way to go, but only Beutler Ink could make it happen.

📊  Introducing: What's the Diff?

We're going back to our data visualization roots with a new infographic series highlighting surprising patterns and little-known facts about Wikipedia. The first installment is live, with the next one posting this week. Follow our president Bill Beutler on LinkedIn to see them!

✒️  Introducing: The Notability Company

Far more brands want a Wikipedia page than meet the encyclopedia's requirements, and the missing piece is almost always news coverage. But earned media for Wikipedia isn't like other earned media—not every story in a well-known publication meets its strict requirements. That's why we've joined forces with partner agency Anomolly to launch The Notability Company, providing advice and support to build the media profile that makes Wikipedia possible. And if you're a PR agency, we can help you tailor your media strategy to meet Wikipedia's sourcing standards. Learn more and ask us how at thenotability.co

🌟  Everything BINK All At Once

We've given our blog a new look and a clearer purpose. The Ink Tank is now a content hub collecting everything BINK puts out: our WikiWise newsletter, media appearances, commentary, and company updates like this one. One place to find everything we're doing. Check it out at beutlerink.com/blog

🎙️  As Seen On...

Bill was quoted in The New York Times about a certain infamous figure's attempt to manipulate Wikipedia, and also appeared on three interview shows including the NYC-area radio program Let's Talk PR & More, where he discussed Wikipedia's growing role as an information source for AI.
